Concert parking and transport: what to check

Plan parking, public transport and pickup points with the venue entrance and event finish time in mind.

Choose a route that works after the event

The easiest way to arrive is not always the easiest way to leave. Compare the return service, expected crowding and the walk from the venue. If the show ends after the last scheduled service, arrange an alternative before setting out. Service changes and engineering works can affect an otherwise familiar journey.

Check what a parking listing actually tells you

A mapped car park is a location, not a reservation. Verify opening hours, overnight access, event-day restrictions, vehicle height limits and payment methods with the operator. Check whether the ticket lets you leave and re-enter. A street that looks convenient may be subject to residential permits or event closures.

Look for the correct entrance

Large venues can have separate entrances for different ticket sections, accessible access and parking. Read your ticket and the venue's arrival guidance. A route to the building centre may not lead to the entrance you need. Allow time to walk from the car park and clear entry checks.

Treat pickup points as part of the plan

Follow the venue's designated taxi and rideshare guidance. Temporary traffic restrictions can move pickup areas away from the main doors. Agree a meeting point with your group and avoid relying on a last-minute call when the surrounding network is busy. Check the pickup location in the transport app before confirming a ride.

Understand the distance shown
